2010 Platinum Choice Award - October, 2010

Smart Meetings magazine, the industry's premier resource for meeting professionals, announced the winners of its seventh annual 2010 Platinum Choice Award. This prestigious award recognizes excellence in service and amenities among meeting facilities in the Western U.S., Canada and Mexico. Out of thousands of qualified properties, only 100 are chosen. And The Resort at the Mountain was one of them!

The Resort earned this recognition by providing the best in ambience, amenities, facility quality, guest services, meeting space, restaurant and dining facilities, staff attitude, technical support and recreational activities. Awards are chosen by Smart Meetings readers, who vote for their favorites over a two-month period. Additional input from the editors and industry experts is considered.

"This year's winners demonstrated superior effort in a challenging economic environment, which clearly set them apart from their competition in the marketplace," said Marin Bright, founder and publisher. 2010 Elite Gold Certification

The Elite Meetings Advisory Board (EMAB) of Elite Meetings, International, Inc. notified The Resort at The Mountain in October, 2010 that it had been awarded Elite Gold certification. Elite Gold represents a new level of endorsement from its independent panel of veteran meeting planners and hoteliers who developed the standards for group meetings and incentive properties. Elite Gold criteria was developed in response to demand from the 20,000+ meeting professionals who visit EliteMeetings.com to research and book high-end hotels and resorts. Standards' criteria include accommodations, activities, amenities, food and beverage, meetings facilities and service. Recognition is granted only to properties offering exceptional experiences for groups.

It's a bit of a drive to Timberline or Government Camp and the area's hiking trails and ski areas, but if a round of golf in a gorgeous setting sounds tempting, this golf resort, set in a large clearing in the dense woods at the base of Mount Hood, is one of your best choices in the Mount Hood area. Beautifully landscaped grounds incorporating concepts from Japanese garden design hide the resort's many low-rise buildings and make this a tranquil woodsy retreat. The guest rooms are large and have either a balcony or a patio. The main lodge has a formal dining room, while a more casual dining room overlooks the golf course. In addition to the amenities listed below, there are horseshoe pits, croquet and lawn bowling courts, volleyball and badminton courts, nature trails, and a pro shop.
