THE RESORT AT THE MOUNTAIN COMPLETES $14 MILLION RENOVATION

Premier mountain resort updates property, golf courses and opens new spa

SEATTLE – (August 19, 2009) – Coastal Hotel Group is pleased to announce the completion of the $14 million renovation of The Resort at The Mountain, a premier golf, spa and ski destination resort in the western highlands of Mt. Hood. Located within minutes of Mt. Hood’s abundant tourist activities, The Resort now features high end, spacious accommodations, revamped meeting and event facilities, Altitude restaurant, upgraded golf courses, lush landscaping and a new full-service spa.

Renovations of The Resort’s 157 guest rooms, suites and golf villas feature luxury furnishings with top-of-the-line amenities. Each room is complete with warm cherry wood accents, Simmons® Beautyrest Black™ Beverly Hills™ Plush memory foam beds, luxury linens, wall-mounted flat-screen high-definition televisions, The Sharper Image Perfect Hotel Alarm Clock with DualConnect™ technology for iPod®, iPhone® or MP3 player, and complimentary high-speed wired and wireless internet access. Upgraded bathrooms feature oversized walk-in showers with rain shower heads, polished marble countertops, plush terry bath robes and eco-friendly Green Natüra bath products.

The Resort now features 18,000 square feet of flexible and acoustically-balanced meeting and event areas suitable for groups as small as 20 people and as large as 750. The meeting spaces have awe-inspiring views of the surrounding national forests. Each meeting space comes equipped with high-speed internet access and audiovisual equipment.

The new Altitude restaurant offers varying natural textures of stone, wood and tile with scenic outdoor views. Altitude features a fusion of taste, flavor, preparation and presentation with inspirations from the Pacific Northwest, Asia, Pan-Asia, South and Midwest. Techniques from classical to modern “molecular gastronomy” are showcased by Executive Chef Paul Bosch and his creative culinary team. In addition to Altitude, Mallards Café & Pub received its own renovation, and offers guests casual, pub-style cuisine.

The makeover also includes the addition of The Spa, a new 3,500 square foot full-service spa featuring seven treatment rooms including massage rooms, a skin care treatment room, a wet treatment room with a Vichy shower, a deluxe doubles treatment room and a manicure/pedicure room. The Courses, The Resort’s award-winning 27-hole golf course, received a $3.7 million upgrade. Of the three nine-hole golf courses, Foxglove Nine received a $1.5 million overhaul including new tee boxes and three redesigned and rebuilt greens. Sand bunkers were upgraded throughout The Courses along with the addition of paved cart paths and an updated irrigation system to improve course quality, conditions and water preservation.

Interior design firm MNID Associates of Seattle designed the guest rooms and public areas to feature contemporary lines and a subdued earthy color palette inspired by the forests surrounding The Resort. Master planning and exterior design for all guest room lodges and public buildings on the 360-acre resort complex were provided by Scheurer Architects of Newport Beach, Calif. The Resort’s $14 million renovation was funded by Olympic Investors LLC, an affiliate of Pinnacle, an American Management Services Company. The Resort at The Mountain has been managed by Coastal Hotel Group since 2007.
