In 2009 The Resort at The Mountain planted 11,000 new plants indigenous to Oregon throughout its 300 acre property, adding to the lush mountain flora of the region. The Resort is dedicated to conservation and sustainable practices that will benefit the environment by improving air quality, conserving water and harboring wildlife. The new plants will thrive in the high country's lush environment.
The Resort has long been committed to preserving its pristine environment and implementing green practices. The Resort's historic 27-hole golf course, The Courses, is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, recognized for environmental excellence in five categories including Wildlife and Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Integrated Pest Management, Water Conservation and Water Quality Management.
Also implemented was the Salmon River Side Channel Enhancement Project to repair salmon and steelhead habitats damaged by floods and erosion during the past two decades. This project involved placing approximately sixty 35-foot logs and fifty three-foot by three-foot boulders into the side channel. The end result significantly reduced the risk of further bank erosion presently threatening a buried sewer line that services many local residences. In addition, the Project provides a better habitat for Coho and Steelhead, and their population which has significantly increased since the Project's inception.
More recently, The Resort at The Mountain's concern for the environment has extended beyond its outdoor efforts and golf course restoration of land and stream.
The food and beverage division purchases locally grown products, donates surplus food to retirement homes and utilizes its own herb garden for edible garnishes on each entrée served at Altitude.
And now, The Resort's concern reaches into its guest bathrooms as well.
Featured here are products from Green from NATÜRA -- the first amenity program specifically designed for environmental sustainability. This innovative toiletry collection features bottles made primarily from Plastarch Material (PSM), a corn-based biodegradable material and other environmentally sensitive packaging. The coordinating accessories are also made primarily from PSM and packaged in natural recycled paper cartons printed with soy based inks. The vegetable based soaps are cruelty-free, and contain no animal far or byproducts. All ingredients have been thoroughly tested and are not environmentally harmful in their expected usage and drainage to sewers and treatment plants. Using PSM significantly reduces environmental impact and promotes a sustainable future.

Koni Corporation's bamboo bathroom towels, as featured at The Resort at The Mountain, are but one facet of their "total solution in soft goods" approach and products.
Made from bamboo pulp and fiber, the towels are light, strong, have excellent wicking properties, and are antibacterial.
The bamboo plant is a renewable source which grows quickly and does not require the use of pesticides and herbicides. Bamboo also has many naturally antibacterial qualities, which bamboo fabric is able to retain, even through multiple washings.
Bamboo fiber comes from nature and returns to nature. As a natural cellulose fiber, bamboo is 100% biodegradable. The decomposition process does not cause any pollution in the environment. Bamboo fiber is highly absorbent -- able to soak up three times its weight in water.
Naturally inspired and thoughtfully selected – you may expect these in all guest rooms and suites.
